From the book, Chapter 11. Ten minutes a day is 3,650 minutes a year: about 61 hours, or 1.5 forty-hour weeks. A 35-minute commute each way over 230 workdays is 16,100 minutes, about 268 hours. Three clerks at 90 seconds a person serve 2 a minute, so 18 people ahead means about 9 minutes (13.5 with two clerks). Fourteen tasks of 20 minutes are 280 minutes, 4.7 hours: 2.3 days at 2 free hours a day.
