From the book, Chapter 3. 2/3 + 3/4 = 17/12 = 1 5/12 cups. A pizza with a third and a quarter eaten has 5/12 left. 2 3/8 + 1 5/16 inches = 3 11/16; 8 1/4 − 2 3/4 feet = 5 1/2. After two cuts that each eat 1/8 inch, the 36-inch board has 11 1/2 inches left. The week’s hours add to 38 1/6; 5/6 + 7/8 = 1 17/24.
