Rows, Borders & the Rebalance

Never lay a sliver. Span and board width in — full rows and a matched edge row on each side out.

Enter the room span, the expansion gap and the board width, then press Calculate.
From the book — Chapter 4. Naive rows = floor(usable ÷ width). If the last row is under half a board, drop one full row and split the remainder between both edges instead — that is the rebalance.

Matches Chapter 4's flooring set-out (2680 mm usable, 190 mm boards, 15 rows) exactly. Everything stays in your browser — no sign-up, nothing stored.
