Small-Business Math · Chapter 3

Markup ↔ Margin

Same profit, two yardsticks. See your markup and margin from a cost and price — or set a target margin and get the price.

Home › Calculators › Markup ↔ Margin

Enter a cost and price (and, if you like, a target margin), then press Calculate.
From the book — Chapter 3. Markup = profit ÷ cost. Margin = profit ÷ price. Margin is always the smaller number. To hit a target margin: price = cost ÷ (1 − margin).

Illustrative arithmetic — the same method the chapter teaches. Everything stays in your browser — no sign-up, nothing stored.
