From the book — Chapter 6. Every conversion is a multiplication by one — where "one" is written as a ratio (like 2.54 cm ÷ 1 in). Line the units up so the ones you don't want cancel, and you're left with the ones you do. Temperature is the odd one out because Fahrenheit doesn't start at zero when Celsius does.
